Auto-width Bootstrap Column XPages Controls

By Cameron Gregor | 3/21/17 10:26 AM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

I’ve been stuck working with OneUI Version 3 for the past couple of years, due to a regretful decision made at the beginning of my major project. OneUI was better than nothing but very frustrating at times. Finally, I have moved on to my next project and I am now using bootstrap (version 3)

What to expect in upcoming SmartNSF Beta 3 release?

By Martin Jinoch | 3/20/17 9:19 AM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

We've decided to rename strategies to make the names shorter, yet still descriptive enough. We've basically removed all SELECT_ and ALL_ parts of the names. For example SELECT_ALL_DOCUMENTS_FROM_VIEW is from now on DOCUMENTS_FROM_VIEW. Extending the life of your keyboard is just a positive side effect of this change.

Swiper FP8 Version Beta Release

By Cameron Gregor | 3/16/17 2:30 PM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

Last week I released the ‘alpha’ version of Swiper which was untested on FP8 but presumed to be ok. So far I have only had good reports from the pioneers who have gone ahead and installed FP8 + the alpha version. I have since managed to ugrade my home office setup to FP8 which unfortunately has broken my ability to launch designer from eclipse but I am seeking some advice on fixing this up.

OpenAPI Specifications for Freebusy and Calendar available on OpenNTF's Github account and SmartNSF Beta 2 released

The application development landscape of today's world is completely upside-down. While in the past a platform has to integrate all and should consume open standards, in today's world a platform should be capable of being integrated everywhere and providing open standards. This shift is a logical consequence of the new paradigms of microservices and microservice-oriented architecture.

‘F’ is for Feature

By Martin Donnelly | 3/9/17 7:32 PM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

In order to ship new features IBM must often extend its backend classes to provide new APIs. I recognise a lot of the APIs called out in this screenshot because they are mostly the new ones added in FP8 to give you the capability of decrypting and encrypting documents.

Markdown XPages UIControl – Cameron Gregor

By Cameron Gregor | 3/5/17 8:37 AM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

Often when I’m designing an xpage, there might be a section of the page in which I want to explain some instructions to the user. Some options here are to: write the Instructions using html and embed directly in the xpage markup write the Instructions directly in the design pane and format using designer’s ui e.g. bold, color, size etc

Notes application modernization with Vaadin :: A step-by-step beginner tutorial

By Stephan Kopp | 3/1/17 3:39 PM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

Modernization of IBM Notes/Domino applications should be done outside of the Notes/Domino universe, which means in the first step to create a non-xpage frontend and connect it to your existing Notes application.

By Sven Hasselbach | 2/27/17 5:47 AM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

If you need to know when your Servlet is initialized or destroyed, you can use a ServletContextListener in your application. First, create the class AppServletContextListener and implement the javax.servlet.ServletContextListener interface.

The State of Domino App Dev Post-Connect-2017

By Jesse Gallagher | 2/24/17 11:07 PM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

I'm en route back from this year's IBM Connect in San Francisco, and this plane ride is giving me a good chance to chew over the implications for Domino developers. First off, I'll put my bias in this matter right up front: Darwino, which I've been working on and discussing quite a bit, is one of the three "chosen" vendors for app enhancement/modernization/what-have-you.
